Darcy Burthay Leadership in Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship is provided to recognize and honor nurses who are active in the healthcare community as an RN and are recognized by peers and supervisors as leaders in healthcare. Candidates are those people who demonstrate leadership, exceptional passion for service, and dedication to the profession of nursing.

Application Process

·       Submit a completed scholarship application by September 21st.

·       Submit a 200 to 500 word signed essay outlining why the applicant wants to earn a Bachelor Degree in Nursing and how it will benefit the profession of nursing as well as their career in healthcare. 

·       Submit three letters of recommendation citing leadership qualities.

Criteria

·       Must be a first-time Harrison College student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree

·       Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution

·       Active unencumbered RN license

·       Minimum of one year experience as a registered nurse

·       GPA of 3.5 or greater in their nursing program

·       Evidence of recognition as a leader

Continuing Requirements

·       Continuous full-time enrollment

·       GPA of 3.5 or greater

Selection Committee to Select Applicants. This scholarship will be offered to students enrolling at Harrison College and working towards a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. Up to three $25,200 scholarships will be awarded each September for Harrison College’s Fall Term.  Scholarship money will be distributed in $3,600 increments over the seven terms of the student’s enrollment at Harrison College.  Any student who withdraws, or changes to an ineligible program of study automatically forfeits any remaining scholarship funds.
