School of Veterinary Technology

At Harrison College, we offer a Veterinary Technology program that gives you the power to help animals (and their humans) through a career you’ll love.

Veterinary Technicians ranked as #2 most recession proof career!

Veterinary healthcare is in great demand as pets are now treated, more than ever, as part of the family.

The curriculum covers all areas of animal patient care, including lab tests, radiology procedures and counseling for the care of sick animals, as well as preventive measures. An on-site kennel enables students to gain practical, hands-on experience. Students will use equipment including a surgery room and surgery prep area, a radiology room, IDEXX blood work equipment and veterinary practice management software.

Our Veterinary Technology program  is offered exclusively at our Indianapolis-Northwest campus and housing services are available. The program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

Graduates are prepared and must sit for the state board exam to become Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT). As an RVT, you will be prepared to conduct clinical work under the supervision of a veterinarian including giving injections, taking x-rays, anesthetizing patients, offering post-operative care, cleaning teeth, and much more.

If you have a course of study in mind but you’re not sure it falls into our School of Veterinary Technology or you don’t see it here, please contact a Harrison Admissions Representative or view all Harrison academic programs.
