To honor the memory of a former student, alumni, and employee, Nicholas David Andrews (May 11, 1978- August 6, 2009) Harrison College has established the Nick Andrews Scholarship to provide our vast alumni group with the opportunity to return to Harrison College to earn an additional degree.
Eligibility
- Must hold a degree, diploma, or certificate earned at Harrison College (or Indiana Business College).
- Must have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) between $5,275 and $10,000 on the FAFSA.
- Applicant may be a current student, or interested in enrolling for the April quarter.
Award
If selected, the recipient will receive an award of $1,000 to be divided evenly over the first two terms ($500 per quarter) of the student’s enrollment. Students may only apply once, and awards are not eligible for renewal. Any student who withdraws, or changes to an ineligible program of study, automatically forfeits any remaining scholarship funds. Student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 to continue to receive the full award amount.
Application Process
- Submit an essay (500-1000 words) answering “Why do you deserve this scholarship and how will it help further your goals?”
- Submit two letters of recommendation; one from a Harrison College instructor, administrator, or advisor; the other from outside professional.
- Complete the Free Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Application deadline of March 19.
Selection Process
All completed applications will be reviewed after the March 19 deadline by the Harrison College Scholarship Committee.
